Carolyn Townsley

Standrin are pleased present ‘Artworks’ by Carolyn Townsley, an exhibition of a selection of her stunning paintings, for the first time outside of London.

Colour has always been important in the development of Carolyns artwork. Recent paintings have been made in mixed media from found and re-worked papers. Images are manipulated with ink, paint and other water based media. Acrylic and ink are dripped and layered onto the surface to create textual abstract images.

Recent works are inspired by the visual elements especially colour, texture, shape and pattern. Smaller paintings are designed to be displayed in groups or clusters.

Private and corporate commissions, when undertaken, are designed to be inspired by their surroundings.

'The Artworks'

The Artworks exhibition focuses on the development and manipulation of media and colour. Carolyn says: “These recent paintings are inspired by the visual elements, especially colour, texture, shape and pattern. Acrylic and ink are dipped and layered onto the surface to create textual abstract images.”
